I need a script that can run on leopard/snow leopard (preferably without installing anything) that creates an openaudit friendly file of hardware/software/network details etc pulled from the system_profiler command. I have made a start and have managed to get some basic system info out in addition to the full list of software, but my string processing skills have reached their limit. I have a sample output that ran on a linux machine and I'll try to obtain another sample from a windows machine which probably has even more information. Basically elements in the script are separate by '^^^' and each string of info related to a category (network/system/processor etc) begins on a newline. You must be good at string processing. Note: Open Audit has free scripts available that run on linux but these are very difficult to convert but may be of assistance to you.
