The data is separated from the application (forms, reports). When you get newer version of front-end, you can keep your data file with you. How many users will use this database? Will your users be using this database outside your LAN or office? Through internet? If so we will go for a web or internet based solution. For web/internet application we have 4 options for connecting online:   1) Backend must be SQL server hosting on internet.       2) Share this database thought Share Point server. Hi In my opinion you have 2 options. 1. You can do it via a website which means no software costs but will require a monthly/Yearly cost (though a very small amount in the grand scheme of things). Benifits to this include multiple users, from multiple locations without the need for each user to have a Microsoft Access license. You could even access from a mobile device! 2. An access database. Robust and easy to use. Benifits to this are that you can easily create new queries on the fly (with very little knowledge, I can teach you). The downside to this is that you will need to buy a license for each computer you wish to use this and it may become costly (depending on the amount of users you have) If you want to chat more feel free to message me Regards JD
