FINAL PROJECT POWERPOINT PRESENTATION Please select a style of music from the culture of your choice, preferably one in which you have been enculturated. I AM DOING TRADITIONAL IGBO MUSIC that you may choose; using the text as your primary source. Feel free to email me with questions. Please check your choice with me before starting. Select two sources – one scholarly text or online article and one online source. The BEST SCHOLARLY RESOURCE is the Garland Encyclopedia of World Music available online, or in many library reference sections. MC Library has several world music databases, including JSTOR. However if you use an article from JSTOR, you will not need to use all of it as it can get rather dense. WIKIPEDIA is NOT an ACCEPTABLE resource and I will know if you use it. Please use quotes when necessary. 7-8 SLIDE POWERPOINT presentation to share with the class Each powerpoint presentation should consist of 7-8 slides and include Short Bullets, with summary text in the comments presentation style section (as if that is how you’d do the talking part for the class). The actual slides should have photos and not too much text thus limiting the text to the comments section to share with us. You may choose your own order and organize in your own way, but the basic material may be similar to how the textbook is organized, and how I created my slides. 1. Welcome Slide with Country and Musical Site 2. Arrival: introducing the area (what makes it interesting, why would someone want to visit that area) 3. Music Site – what is the musical style, explain key points using musical elements 4. Musical Instruments Slide 5. (and 6.?) Cultural Considerations – history, (who, what, when, where, and why of the music), dance if applicable, artist or group info? 6 or 7. Embed a Video Selection from Youtube or Textbook Weblink (you can use video grabby) 7 or 8. Bibliography including the youtube link and two sources that you used – any format
