The attached python program is used to upload data from a binary file through a serial port using xmodem. The program works but I want it to be more user friendly. I want you to improve the program so that it handles all exceptions and responds with error messages the user will understand. Be sure that there are no loops or calls that can result in a hang by adding timeout code. If you see areas where the code can be simplified or cleaned up please do so. The program needs to run on Linux, Windows, and MAC so fix any code that is not portable also.
