Heroku is shutting down their old Bamboo stack, and all apps must be ported over to the new modern Cedar stack. Unfortunately, we don't have time to do this. I'm looking for someone who can: * Download the existing code base from Heroku * Update the code to a modern version of Ruby which is fully supported on Cedar * Update any dependencies and gems * Deploy the new version on Heroku, testing to make sure everything still works * Launch the new site in production The app in question is incredibly simple, and can be found at: [login to view URL] Please mess around with the website for a few minutes to check it out. The code base is very simple (just a few pages). I don't expect this should take a Heroku/Ruby expert more than a couple hours. I will provide you with admin access to the Heroku project while this work is complete, and remove that access after the project has been signed off.

Hey mate, Thank a ton for supplying the GEMFILE this has made it easier to quote your job. It looks like your app needs to be converted to the latest ruby and rails and It will be all good. My name is christos and I have 4 years Web Development experience, and 2 years Rails experience (most agencies I've worked with use heroku, so I'm very familiar with the current heroku environment) The job will require a few steps, the first being exporting the current database, creating a new version of the app, then re importing the existing data into the new app. The reason for this suggestion is that it is unclear to me whether we will need to update mongoid and if there will be any conversion issue there.. This can all be done without interrupting the current live build. I would be happy to spin up the project on a new deployment in heroku giving us easy testing and confirmation of functionality before transferring the domain over to provide a seamless transition for your current users. Hello there, The Gemfile helps to understand your current situation and of course the site link. As you know, your running Rails 3 with Mongoid 2. In terms of upgrading, would you like to upgrade to Rails 4 and Mongoid 3? I have actually been doing a similar piece of work on 3 web apps I built, all were on Heroku's Bamboo stack running rails 3.1 or 3.2. I upgraded them to Rails 4 and since they were all running Mongoid, I also upgraded that too. So I literally have experienced this process during the last couple of weeks. Since I already have a Heroku account, you can easily grant me access to your Heroku repository and then I don't believe it would take more than 3 days to complete.
