***AS PREVIOUSLY DISCUSSED*** This project is for a Car Wash company with 5 locations spread across the southeastern United States. This project deserves special attention, so if you will quote this one with a little more time and effort built in than the average site. Some sample sites they liked are Benny’s, Hi-Speed, Template 14790, Template 13265, Carnett This site is funding a portion of our CMS project, so you can keep that in mind, that they will access cms and update content. Some notes/ideas: - I’m uploading an existing logo. We are reworking the logo a bit, but you can use this for mockup if it helps. We’re simply isolating the emblem (like in the uploaded .jpg) and adding the words “CAR WASH” in the font as it appears outside the emblem (as in the uploaded .png) - Also to be included, if possible without appearing ridiculous, is a cartoon of their mascot. It’s a geeky teenage kid. I don’t have a digital image of him yet, but am trying to get a digital copy from the client. I did, however, upload a cartoon image that has the same ethereal feeling, that could possibly be used for a rough mockup. He could appear the entire height of the page (from header to footer), or smaller and contained within the site – whatever works well. They would like to include the mascot, but if it doesn’t work, that’s ok, in my opinion. - Colors on the site should be complementary to the logo. The design needs to be clean, bold, colorful, shiny. - Layout should be somewhat modular, with areas for updates, news, announcements, specials. We’ll also likely display a rotating image from their different locations, and make the image link to a page for that specific location, with map & directions, etc. - A lot of car wash sites use bubbles or water droplets in their design scheme. It’s hard to say whether it’s cliché now, or if it’s the result of marketing research that suggests that bubbles make an impact on the consumer. You may want to use bubbles or beads of water in some mockups, and maybe produce a mockup with something totally different. - I’m currently working on video for the masthead, that will have large bubbles floating, following current. The video is mainly a blue hue, and I’ll do some color correction as needed to make it complement the logo. The way I’m currently thinking, the logo will appear to float in the masthead.
