This is for Phase I (the design phase) of an electric drive for a bicycle. The purpose of the project is to develop a design for a Direct Power Electric Drive that would (1) generate power by human effort (pedal motion), (2)Transfer the power directly to an electric motor (no gearbox), and (3) use the electric motor to rotate the wheel in the bicycle. I am looking for someone with deep understanding of modern electric motors being used in the car industry such as the new IPMsynRM motor in the Tesla Model 3 and being able to use such technology (which is open source) to design and create an innovative and scaled system (1-2hp) to replace existing mechanical drive systems (gear/chain) in bicycles.
